“The WikiPlanning tool was very effective in our community outreach efforts for the Quality of Life Initiative project. This tool offered a way for Citizens to participate without having to take time out of their busy schedules to attend a public meeting. Nearly 800 participants logged onto the site, indicating people will participate in local issues if it is made convenient and easy. The information we gained from the Wikiplanning tool, will serve us well in our efforts to better the City”
Karl Fritschen, AICP, RLA, Community Development Director, City of Owasso, Oklahoma
Wikiplanning is a wonderful and effective tool for community outreach. The site is inviting, as well as user-friendly.
Randi Gates, Carolina Thread Trail Community Coordinator
Wikiplanning is putting community planning within reach of all types of citizens and stakeholders. It overcomes obstacles to participation, such as geographic location or the demands of personal and professional lives. Our reliance on public meetings for meaningful input can now be significantly less.
Meg Nealon, RLA, AICP, Principal LandDesign
I often want to speak at public meetings, but have a fear of public speaking like most people. This is so much more comfortable. I'm writing this in my pajamas :-)
